CONFIDENCE & SELF-AWARENESS
Supporting young people recognise their strengths, understand themselves and develop greater confidence in who they are.
MENTORING FOR BOYS & YOUNG MEN · ADELAIDE
Supporting boys and young men to build confidence, emotional regulation, independence and practical life skills through genuine mentoring and community engagement.

Every young person deserves someone who genuinely believes in them. Someone who sees beyond labels, behaviours and challenges to the person underneath.
Our role isn't to fix young people or tell them who they should become. It's to walk alongside them as they discover who they are, recognise what they're capable of and develop the skills and confidence to navigate life with greater independence.
No two young people are the same. That's why mentoring isn't delivered from a script.
We build support around the young person's goals, strengths, interests and everyday life — creating opportunities to learn, experience, practise and grow.
Supporting young people recognise their strengths, understand themselves and develop greater confidence in who they are.
Building awareness around emotions, communication skills and developing healthier ways to regulate and respond to what life brings.
Developing practical capability through tasks like cooking, money, organisation, transport, employment readiness, health, fitness and everyday responsibilities.
Building confidence to participate in the world through sport, hobbies, friendships, activities and meaningful community involvement.
Every mentoring relationship is different. Support is shaped around the young person's goals, interests, strengths and needs.
REAL LIFE. REAL CONNECTION.

Some of the most important conversations happen when you're doing something else.
Mentoring creates opportunities for young people to build skills, confidence and connection through real experiences — not just conversations across a table.
The activity isn't always the point. Sometimes it's simply the place where trust, conversation and growth can happen.
OUR APPROACH

Great mentoring isn't about having all the answers. It's about creating the relationship and environment in which growth can happen.
Our approach follows four simple stages.
CONNECT → EXPLORE → DEVELOP → EMPOWER
Build trust.
Take the time to know the young person — their world, interests, personality and what matters to them.
Understand what's really going on.
Listen deeply, stay curious and explore strengths, challenges, goals and opportunities together.
Turn insight into capability.
Teach, practise, encourage and respectfully challenge — developing skills that translate into everyday life.
Help them own their progress.
Recognise growth, build confidence and gradually increase responsibility and independence.
The goal isn't dependence on a Mentor.
The goal is greater belief and capability within the young person.
WHO WE SUPPORT

Boys aged 10–18
Good People Project may be a good fit for young people wanting support with things like:
Confidence and self-esteem · emotional regulation · social confidence · independence · communication · routines · community participation · health and fitness · practical life skills · employment readiness · finding interests and direction.
NDIS self-managed and plan-managed participants welcome.
Not sure whether we're the right fit? That's exactly what the first conversation is for.
Good People Project was built around a simple idea: relationships can change lives.
Young people don't always need another person telling them what they're doing wrong. Sometimes they need someone who shows up consistently, listens without judgement, sees what they're capable of and is willing to walk beside them while they figure things out.
We want young people to feel seen, supported and challenged — while developing the confidence, skills and independence to create a future that feels like their own.

Thomas Hunt
Thomas brings together experience in disability support, mentoring, coaching, leadership and personal development with a genuine passion for helping young people grow.
His approach is grounded in relationship, curiosity and respect. Rather than positioning himself as the person with all the answers, Thomas believes great mentoring creates the space for young people to better understand themselves, develop capability and recognise what's possible for their lives.
Good People Project grew from a desire to create the kind of mentoring organisation where relationships come first, Mentors lead by example, and success is measured by the difference the work makes in a young person's life.
A mentoring relationship only works when there's genuine connection and trust.
That's why we don't start with paperwork. We start with a conversation.
Then a simple 3-step process:
Tell us a little about the young person and the support you're looking for.
We'll have an initial conversation to understand their personality, interests, goals and support needs.
If it looks like a good fit, we'll organise the next step and begin the onboarding process.
No pressure. No hard sell. The right fit matters to us too.
